About Sexton Design, LLC
Vernon Sexton graduated from the University of Oregon in 1969. For several years before moving to Bend he gained experience on a wide variety of projects that ranged from modular housing in Israel to ski area planning in Telluride, Colorado. Born and raised in Salem Oregon, Vernon has traveled worked and lived in a variety of locations including Philadelphia, New York, Montreal and Southern California. But once he moved to Bend he found his true home. One of his first clients was Bill Healy, founder of the Mount Bachelor ski area. Over a period of ten years Sexton Design provided Mount Bachelor with planning and designs for lodge additions, ski lift buildings and maintenance facilities. Three of the most notable of these projects are the Ski & Rental shop, the Summit Lift and the 37,000 square foot Pine Marten Lodge, accessible only by chair lift and at 7,000 ft. elevation is the highest occupied building in Oregon. In 1999 Vernon chose to concentrate on residential design for the majority of his projects.
